Matthew 20:26, Matthew 20:28
We live in a society that has a “me first” attitude. We are conditioned to look at every situation with the viewpoint of: what’s in it for me? What is my gain? This creates a self-seeking, selfish society, where the highly competitive thrive, but what about the others? Those that miss the cut are left behind in the dust.
Jesus calls us to serve others, help those in need. It doesn’t matter whether those in need are followers of Christ or not – Jesus loves us all. We are to show that love and compassion to those around us. I challenge you to try and put the need of another person first – not every day, not all the time – Just once see how it feels – discover the joy in shining your light and spreading the love Jesus spoke of. We lead others to our Father, not by what we say, but by the love we display, the kindness in our eyes. Our actions display a window into the Holy Spirit that lives in us. World Kindness day shouldn’t have to exist – everyday we should show kindness and compassion to those around us by serving others in even the smallest of ways. A little service goes a long way, both in the workplace and personal relationships. Let your light shine bright!
