PROMISE #3: “And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” (Matthew 6:27).
Being anxious will simply not do you any good. That’s a promise. It promises nothing. You are not only messing up your own day, but a lot of other people’s as well. Renounce it. Leave it with God. And get on with your work.”Anxiety accomplishes nothing worthwhile. That’s a promise. Believe it. Act on it.
With the approaching hurricane Irma this last week I got to experience this firsthand. Initially, it was natural for me to go into high anxiety mode and like so many others rush to Home Depot and Lowe’s to get supplies that were no longer there then proceed to drive to The next store up the road to see if they had any and so on, and so on, and so on. But, something inside, some people call it the Holy Spirit, told me to stop and depend on God. As soon as I did this, my eyes were open to blessings that God would put in front of me every step of the way. I do what I can and relying on God to do the rest. Before I knew it, I had shutters available through my friend, help to put them up, two generators, And help taking down awnings at my store. It was amazing, humbling and true relief. I was then able to reach out to my neighbors and be a blessing to them. I knew then, that God had me and my family. I was able to get through the entire experience at peace like I could have never done on my own.
